Endless Fantasy - Anamanaguchi

Yo~ It's Annie.

So today, I'm back again with a chiptune!

"What is chiptune?" you may ask.
Chiptune, also called 8-bit music or chip music, is electronic music made from the sound chips of vintage video game consoles, computers and arcade machines (you know; pinball machines, the claw {who got that reference?*}, etc. - refer to the picture on the right). The 'ping!'s and off-key screeching of the game's music. Some people use NESes (Nintendo Entertainment Systems) and Game Boys to produce chiptunes.
The song: Endless Fantasy by Anamanaguchi.

Why I like this song: I've never heard anything so creative. The music video perfectly fits the title. I'm not a big electro-smart person, however, so I can't say much without sounding like an absolute fool.

A little about Anamanaguchi: Anamanaguchi is one of the most popular chiptune artists. They consider themselves an " American chiptune rock band" originating from New York City. The band has four members: lead songwriter and Peter Berkman (guitarist), James DeVito (bassist), Ary Warnaar (guitarist) and Luke Silas (drummer). They mainly use a NES and Game Boy to produce their music.

Why I like Anamanaguchi: Their sound is unique. I know that some songs use video game music, like Koji Kondo's Mario Bros Theme as an insert into the song to make it humorous and fun to listen to. For example, Falling In Reverse's Game Over uses a video gaming theme to describe life and not wanting to grow up (that was a Cher Lloyd and Peter Pan reference all at once, oh my).
This is Anamanaguchi's website.
My life is like a video game

Trying hard to beat the stage
All while I'm collecting coins
Trying hard to save the girl,
Obstacles, I'm jumping hurdles.
I'm growing up to be a big boy.
...Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Select Start.
 - Game Over, Falling In Reverse
That song is explicit but hilarious.

BUT ENOUGH OF THAT, BACK TO ENDLESS FANTASY.

Give it a listen. It'll be fun.

Happy New Year's Eve. I have to go back to school on Friday, so there most likely won't be daily updates.

By Your Side - Tokio Hotel

I've been waiting for this silence all night long.

Why, hello there. It's Annie again~
Thank you for coming back.

I plan on updating weekly, if unattainable, I'll let you know. Perhaps even twice a week!

The song: By Your Side by Tokio Hotel.

Why I like this song: I love rock music, and it's pretty low key and not too busy song/instrumental-wise.

A little about Tokio Hotel: They're a German rock band, originating from Magdeburg. Bill Kaulitz (the singer), Tom Kaulitz (guitarist), Gustav Schäfer (drummer) and Georg Listing (bassist) founded Tokio Hotel in 2001, signing with Sony BMG Germany (they ended up getting terminated after recorded an unreleased demo CD) then Universal Music Germany in 2005.

Why I like Tokio Hotel: They scream, but they're not too loud, nor do they fill up 50%+ of the song with screams. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy screamo, but some bands/songs have overkill.

If you have any suggestions for songs you want me to share, go ahead and comment them or tell me somehow!

I've been waiting for this moment...

welcome, welcome.

Hey there everyone.

I'm Annie, and this is my blog. It'll be about music and probably some snippets of my life as well.

My previous blog was omelet's music, but I've decided to put that on hiatus, since the other admins and I were precariously busy with classes, family and other things.
I wanted a change, so I made this!

Feel free to look around.

Have a wonderful New Year filled with happiness.
